Jean Dillion is a crusader of Athena. Born to a rich family, Ben the bard was rought up as an arrogant brat. One unfortunate day, ogres form the north raided his family home, killing all hid family members, leaving him as the only survivor. Ben did not really blame the ogres as his family were like tyrants in the town of Wyeth, much to extravagant for anyone's liking. Sooner or later, Ben believed, something like this was bound to happen. After spending one year in solitude, Ben hooked up with a travelling old bard. It turned out that the bard/merchant was very experienced and powerful (approx. 18th level). The old bard taught him much, a little of everything. One day, the old bard said to Ben, "It is time for you to see the world on your own, to seek, experience and explore. When you have found what you are looking for, I will be back."
