The Legend of Dragon Slayer

     Jerome liked to be known as "Beserker" Kanasikanisk, child of the dragon-slayer. His father was Baron Butcher "Dragon-Slayer" Kanasikanisk, the great lord of a land who looked after his citizens well. The baron was a great swordsman and an elven warrior-mage.

     One day, dragons came and terrorised the villages under his control. With 20 of his knights, the baron set out to kill the dragons. The leader of the dragons was a great beast, twice as big as the usual dragon and 4 times as powerful. Legend had it that the skin of this dragon could only be pierced by a magical sword made from the enchanted ore of Dragonloft, legendary lair of all dragons. Able to breathe fire, lightning and acid, it was believed that only an enchanted shield from the hide of the biggest dragon could stop the onslaught.

     The baron returned from that battle alone, badly injured by the dragons. After being healed, the Baron set out on a quest and returned with the dragon ore from Dragonloft and an enchanted shield from the hide of the great dragon Medukane. Using powerful magics, the blade "Dragon Slayer" was forged along with the enchanted shield. It was believed that the baron's enchanted shield could reflect lightning bolts and absorb fire and acid attacks. In addition, it was rumoured to be capable of protecting its wielder with a magical shield that kept missiles (including magical missiles) out.

     Sufficiently equipped, the Baron set out and successfully killed the leader of the dragons attacking his lands. Unfortunately, he was killed as well. Some say that the famed "Dragon Slayer" and its companion shield were taken by the evil red dragon Medukane to Dragonloft where he guards it to this day...

     Jerome Kanasikanisk was only 6 summers when his father, the Baron was killed. Jerome made it his life's quest to find his father's sword and shield, wielding both in glory and honour.
